Renewable Energy Advantages
We can all see renewable energy advantages, but there is a huge industry built around oil, as there was around
coal before it and the people who control the oil do not want to lose their grip on society. What would they do, if
we all started producing even half of the power we use at home?
Renewable Energy Advantages
Renewable energy advantages are enormous, but it would take a huge shift in the way mankind operates, especially
in the West, in order to realize them. We over-rely on fossil fuels to the extent that we spend billions of dollars
to find the stuff, then extract it from the Earth and process it or clean it. Then we have to transport it and
finally convert it into a fuel we can consume and distribute it. Then we have to charge for it and process
payments. One of the renewable energy advantages, is it that the energy comes to you.
There are two basic forms of solar energy that offer renewable energy advantages: the passive and the active
solar energy systems. The passive form is usually cheap to implement, while the active system will cost a lot more
to install, unless you try one of the self-assembly kits on the market.
One of the biggest renewable energy advantages for homes is the use of a passive solar techniques. Passive solar
systems are chiefly used for space heating. In the northern hemisphere, most heat enters a house through windows
facing due south, but any window within 30? of that will also have a warming effect. If you have a lot of window
area facing south, you may think that a house could overheat, but there are many ways of transferring that heat
either to cooler rooms of to other applications, such as heating water.
In fact, a well-thought out and well-constructed building with high-performance, properly-fitting windows can
normally be relied upon to generate about 25% of a family's heating requirements using passive solar techniques
alone. Furthermore, once in place, these techniques are practically maintenance free and easy to clean. A simple
stone or tiled floor will distribute heat throughout one floor of a house. The furnace blower, without the heat on,
can be used to distribute the heat through the ducting, if it gets very hot.
Advanced renewable energy advantages are gained by the use of active solar systems. An active solar system
actually generates electricity or hot water and stores the excess for later use. Some houses actually generate so
much excess electricity during the day, that they feed the excess back into the national grid, for which they get
paid. Other active solar systems may charge batteries in order to provide lighting at night or heat the water in
the shower or even swimming pool.
There are many renewable energy advantages from both passive and active solar energy systems and many of them
are very cheap to implement. If you are having a house built, have a chat wit your builder and architect and see
which renewable energy advantages can had by incorporating sustainable energy methods into your new house.
Sustainable energy at home is a matter of choice these days, the technology is there and waiting.
